Holbrook check out the modern tonal madness going on in this… more to follow from a different angle. The album is deadly. Mr. Dennehy teaches at Trinity
Dennehy’s music could be classified as post-minimalist and features energetic rhythms, hard-edged sounds (both acoustic and electronic) and an infectious sense of melody.
An excerpt from the performance of Grá agus Bás at the Samuel Beckett Theatre. Performed by Crash Ensemble and Afro Celt Soundsystem’s Iarla Ó Lionáird. Composed by Donnacha Dennehy.
Pretty awesome photo of San Francisco “in ruins” taken from an airship in 1906 post earthquake and fire.
I love the photo for the fact that there are no bridges and what’s up with that other Steam-Punk-esque airship with the solar panel like sails?

In keeping with Holbrook’s observance that we’re not all about music here’s a short clip from the Dublin’s Atheist Conference

I love how rain washes off people’s clothes
Full disclosure: I don’t have a bad case of diarrhea, but thought those that do, and those that don’t, might enjoy this clip, courtesy of Le Galaxie‘s twitter feed.
All the best in 2011

Happy New Year
A peaceful and happy festive season to one and all,
Holbrook.
What can I say? If you’re in Ireland join the campaign to make Rubberbandits number 1 this Christmas! The single is out on iTunes to get it to the Christmas number one the best time to buy it is 17 to 23 December.
And for more foul mouthed Irishness check out this take on Ireland’s economic crisis from Denis Ryan originally from Tipperary and now living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was once part of a folk group called ‘Ryan’s Fancy’.
FontLeRoi sez:
Never a truer word said amigo, and in anyways, not to toot our own media-trending, silver-coated, unicorn-horn but we did give the auld rubberbandits a bit of leg up with our worldwide media and cultural influence and exposure back in early November, sure that’s a yonks ago and if you doubt that, fuck you i’ve a horse outside.Personally I look forward to a remake of “The Quite Man” revolving around the fact that Maureen O’Hara’s character “Mary Kate Danaher” has a “horse outside”.
Also I happened to catch Joe “poor mouth” Duffy’s pathetic ramblings on Liveline yesterday – now unless this was a complete setup – Joe got “schooled” (as they say) by RubberBandits own “BlindBoy Boatclub”; in the words of our most respected avant-garde resident fuckdub.com (and poor old Joe will be crying into his kebab and chips tonight)
@talktojoe1850 Loved listening to Blindboy Boatclub school you in art, context, subtext and meaning. The poor mouth doesn’t suit you fatman.
For all the knackers and bullys and whatevers that never knew the power of the back seat (or maybe you did) well fair fucks to you…
